in the traditional style of a New England Cape
Cod House, this
home takes full advantage of the views to be had
of Brackley Bay and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The doors and many windows of the building’s
south elevation face the Bay, while the kitchen
and open concept living area overlook the Gulf.
A full length deck along the warmer south side
of the house also captures the south-facing views
and facilitates outdoor living. The three-quarter-Cape
design also remains true to its origins through
its clean, dormer-free roof line. A rooftop cupola,
complete with cow weather vane, provides subtle
identification with the nearby meadows and potato
fields of working farms.

Penny's Experience
My husband
Don and I flew up here and spent two days with
Rob and Pat, but we knew in the first 15 minutes
that they were going to do our house. We had total
confidence in them.
We
were very happy with the plan our architect came
up with, but Rob came up with some changes that
really worked. I’d be at the other end of
a telephone call with a set of plans in front
of me, and I’d think, “Boy, he’s
right.” He’s got a terrific eye, and
improved on our architect’s plans.
I’ve been in the interior design business
for 50 years, often working with three different
builders a week, and I have never worked with
a company like this. The job was completed on
schedule, and when we arrived here everything
was perfection. The house was immaculate. I’ve
never had such workmanship.
In
our own experience, Don and I restored or built
12 houses, and we never found anyone who was so
reliable and took on the load of responsibility.
They were the best people we ever worked with.
I’ve come to the conclusion that should
I ever built another one — and I might —
I think I would just hand over my check book and
say go to it. I would have that kind of faith.
I just think they’re fabulous. I would recommend
Rob Roy Builders to anyone without hesitation.
